Capacity Building and Development
Building research capacity at individual, institutional and societal levels, so organisations can meet their mission sustainably.
CBD
The association builds the capacity of education researchers and advances the field of education research with a global perspective, through initiatives such as capacity development workshops and seminars at individual, institutional and societal levels.
The association strengthens the knowledge, abilities, skills and behaviour of individuals, and improves institutional structures and processes, so that an organization can efficiently meet its mission and goals in a sustainable way. It also focuses on developing capacity within organizations such as NGOs, to enhance their ability to perform specific activities so they can better fulfil their defined mission, allow for more effective decision-making, and make development work more transparent.
The three levels
- Individual: allows participants to build and enhance existing knowledge and skills, and to engage in the process of learning and adapting to change in their workplace.
- Institutional: aids pre-existing institutions in developing countries, modernizes them, and supports them in forming sound policies, organizational structures, and effective methods of management and revenue control.
- Societal: supports the establishment of a more interactive public administration that learns equally from its own actions and from the feedback it receives from the population at large, developing public administrators who are responsive and accountable.
