Public and private partners are a key component of the association's success. The association never works alone; it always works in partnership, and is enthusiastic to initiate partnerships with organisations that share its ambition to ensure citizens have a prominent voice in how education and research services are delivered where they live.

The association believes that in partnering with other organisations it can, together with them, empower citizens, improve education and research services, and strengthen relationships between citizens and government at all levels. It is keen to hear from potential partners who see value in this approach, and engages with diverse partners in different ways, including partnerships to implement a programme, working in consortia, long-term strategic partnerships, and working with individuals such as consultants and researchers.

The association works in areas which pose some of the biggest questions for our age, from how to engage in quantitative and qualitative education to how to conduct innovative research addressing economic problems. Its strategic partnerships with educational practitioners and its engagement with policymakers ensure that the work is meaningful and leads to the continuous improvement of a nation.
