Fellow

The most prestigious grade of professional membership, recognising senior professional standing and leadership in research. Fellows are nominated and personally invited to be assessed by the Fellowship Committee.

Fellowship is the most prestigious grade of membership, recognising senior professional standing and leadership contribution to research. It is awarded after an assessment made by the Fellowship Committee, which comprises seven members chaired by the National Vice President.

Fellows are nominated and then personally invited to be assessed for this grade. They represent the sector at a senior level, ensuring the profession's continuing relevance to research and to society. New Fellows are announced and invited to attend the Excellence Lunch each June.

Eligibility

  • Exceptional contribution to research in the member's field of expertise
  • Assessment by the Fellowship Committee
  • Nomination and personal invitation to be assessed
  • A significant record of achievement in the field over at least ten years
  • A minimum of a master's degree, or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong recommendations from members or established scholars

How to apply

  1. Nomination by peers, followed by a personal invitation to be assessed.
  2. Submission of a detailed application form with a curriculum vitae, supporting documents and a statement of purpose.
  3. Review by the Fellowship Committee.

Terms & fees

  • A one-time, non-refundable membership fee of $500 is payable on acceptance.
  • Fellows are expected to uphold the association's Code of Ethics and to participate actively in its events, committees and initiatives.
